Ronald Roberts, Ph.D., ABPP, expert forensic neuropsychologist

Dr. Roberts has been working in the field of psychology for over 50 years. He has been practicing forensic psychology and neuropsychology for over 40 years and has been involved in over 4500 forensic cases. He has given over 450 depositions and over 100 trial appearances and has been qualified in all local State and Federal Courts. He routinely works for both plaintiffs and defendants in civil litigation and travels to other states as needed.

 

Dr. Roberts earned his Ph.D. in Psychology at the California School of Professional Psychology in Berkeley, in 1982. He completed his Fellowship in Neuropsychology at the Veterans Administration Hospital in San Francisco in 1983. He became board certified in Forensic Psychology by the American the American Board of Professional Psychology in 1994.

 

Dr. Roberts has earned other distinctions including Board Certifications in Forensic Psychology, Neuropsychology, Medical Psychotherapy, Post Traumatic Stress, Pain Management, Disability Evaluation and Psychopharmacology. He has undergone additional peer review through the Council for the National Register of Health Services Providers in Psychology and by the Association of State and Provincial Psychology Boards. He has earned the Certification of Professional Qualification in Psychology (CPQ) and the Interjurisdictional Practice Certificate (IPC) which affords him reciprocity to practice in a number of other states.

 

Dr. Roberts evaluates most all types of Psychological and Neuropsychological injuries in civil litigation. These include Brain Injuries, Post Traumatic Stress, Toxic Exposure, Discrimination, Mental Competencies, Pain Syndromes, and Disabilities. He is also experienced in criminal litigation regarding Mens Rea issues and Criminal Responsibility.

 

Dr. Roberts works on evidence based methods when evaluating claims and provides reports and testimony based upon objective standards from psychological and neuropsychological testing along with references for the scientific basis of his opinions.

 

Dr. Roberts also trains attorneys in the Standards of Practice for Psychologists and the process of questioning mental health professionals at deposition and trial. He is available as either a retained or non-retained expert to assist with litigation. He has an extensive background in Psychological Testing and consults on issues regarding the reliability and validity of testing that may or may have not been used in a case.
